I love this, (although to be fair I love most things Wales!).
It is, in case you don’t know a parody of Empire State of Mind by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys. This video was going viral on the internets yesterday and also got featured on News at 10. It’s not often I would just share a video here on the blog but this one is worth a look and a listen and I am just doing my bit to help spread the love.
The Fair Votes Now – TakeBackParliament movement protested on Saturday in London and have released video footage of the event.
The Guardian has finally decided to throw its weight behind the Liberal Democrats with their full endorsement. About time!
But while it is very welcome in my opinion – is it too late and too close to polling day to really make a difference?
Cameron sings the truth to the British electorate about what he needs to do to get in and what he’d do if he gets there. Do the right thing on May 6th. No to the Tories.

History in the making is happening on this very day. (Thursday 15 April 2010) No, not the unprecedented closure of British airspace, historical as that may have been! No, for the first time ever a Live Prime Ministerial debate during a British election campaign goes on the air from Manchester at 8PM on ITV. The debate is hosted by Alistair Stewart, and also broadcast on 5 Live and Radio 4. (which you can pick up online for those interested who are not in Britain) It has taken 50 years for something so commonplace in US elections to cross the Atlantic, a fact that might seem incredible to our American cousins. The reason why it has taken this long is that the leading politicians have never agreed terms with each other and with the television companies before. Change happens slowly in this country. Even now, 76 rules have been put in place such as no clapping or laughing during the questions and each leader gets just 1 minute to answer a question and then 4 minutes to debate. Bob Schafer of CBS News told BBC 5 Live that this is similar to what happened in the early days of Presidential debates.

The British Academy (Film and Television Arts) awards were held last night February 21st in London and the Kathryn Bigelow directed movie ‘Hurt Locker’ swept the board with 6 awards including best Director and best Film. The mega-hyped and infinitely more expensive ‘Avatar’ directed by Bigelow’s ex husband James Cameron won 2 awards, for production design and visual effects.
Thoughts on Natasha Walter – The Return Of Sexism. Sexism has re-advanced, and it is enabled through the pornification of just about everything and via the smoke and mirrrors charade that this porn culture is any way empowering for women.
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland has a parliamentary democracy, which means that Government is voted into power by the people, to act in the interests of the people. The Westminster Parliament is in fact the oldest parliamentary democracy in the world.
It’s that time of year again, and in keeping with a great British
tradition here is my "Christmas TV is rubbish" rant… Once again there is nothing much worth watching, too many repeats, too much reality tv, blah blah blah, and so on.
Well not quite, now that’s out of the way, I can write about what actually is worth watching this yuletide
